The first stage of our project started with a round table/workshop held at the Moldova Institut Leipzig (MIL) on March 16-17, 2012. The core team of project participants, together with several invited experts, discussed the general design, organizational details and methodology of the project. The discussion focused particularly on the best research strategies to achieve the goals of the project, including on: the elaboration of interviewing techniques, questionnaires, the selection of interviewees, the regional specificity to be taken into account, the structure of the student team which would carry out the fieldwork, as well as the project’s outcomes and foreseeable results. The experts shared their view on the challenges and tasks ahead, advising the project team on methodological, as well as practical aspects. The workshop was also successful in circumscribing the concrete activities and in suggesting a number of important bibliographical references for further use. Here are some photos from this rather productive and interesting event. Our project is surely gaining momentum, and we are already looking forward to our summer fieldwork! More info and pictures to come soon…
