Half-time at the student seminar in Krzyzowa/Kreisau

Our international students team (5 coming from Israel, 3 from Poland, 4 from Germany) will be working until May 3rd with our team on the issue of the post-war Jewish yishuv in Reichenbach/Dzierzoniów in Lower Silesia. The rich program of our workshop which began on April 23rd included until today mostly conducting interviews with witnesses of the period and other people interesting therefore, lectures and discussions as well as guided tours and research in Dzierzoniów and also Wroclaw.

The participants not only got a deep insight into the history of the highlighted period but could practically work on and improve their qualifications in oral history, the analysis of memory spaces and the conception of educational exhibitions. The last days of our meeting will pass very fast with the analysis of our sources – self-generated material as well as other – and the start of a practical application of an exhibition concept which is being developed together with the students.
