Myroslava Keryk

She is historian and comes from Ukraine. She studied history at the Ivan Franko Lviv National University and at the Central European University in Budapest, where she received her MA. She made her PhD studies at the Graduate School for Social Research in Warsaw and presently she is working on her thesis. Receiving grant from the Gerda Henkel Foundation she made research at the Amsterdam Free University. Besides that she was research fellow at the Warsaw University. Presently she teaches history at the Lazarski University in Warsaw. Being a research fellow in the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Amsterdam she came to the idea to make research about the experience of war and memory of the war in Zhovkva, town near which she lived. The research for the project “Layers of memory” will become a part of work concerning the Holocaust in Zhovkva.
