International Project on the Culture of Memory in Cluj-Napoca

In the period February - November 2012, the city of Cluj-Napoca is the focus point of the international project „Cluj-Napoca between 1939-1960. Diversity of Remembrances", part of the Geschichtswerkstatt Europa programme of the EVZ Foundation.

The project is one of the 28 selected for financing by the German Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" (EVZ), following a contest with 93 applications from various European and Asian states.

A team of young researchers will conduct a substantial research regarding the lieux de memoire characteristic to the main ethnical groups living in Cluj-Napoca, as related to the main historical events of the period 1939-1960. 

The main activities of the project include the study of existing memoires, research of relevant bibliography and interviews with persons living in Cluj-Napoca in the above-mentioned period. 

Furthermore, the team would like to gain the support of all non-governmental organizations pertaining to the minorities in Cluj-Napoca as well as the local press in order to popularize the project and help in identifying possible interviewees. 

The project's objective is to edit and print a trilingual brochure (Romanian, Hungarian, English) presenting the results of this research and its launch in the presence of all collaborators.

Proiect internaţional despre cultura memoriei în Cluj-Napoca

În perioada februarie - noiembrie 2012, municipiul Cluj-Napoca este punctul de interes al proiectului internaţional „Cluj-Napoca between 1939-1960. Diversity of Remembrances", desfăşurat sub auspiciile programului Geschichtswerkstatt Europa al Fundaţiei EVZ.

Proiectul a fost printre cele 28 selectate pentru finanţare de către Fundaţia germană "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" (EVZ), în urma unui concurs cu 93 de aplicaţii din diverse state europene şi asiatice.

O echipă formată din tineri cercetători europeni va desfăşura o amplă cercetare privind locurile de memorie caracteristice principalelor etnii care locuiesc în Cluj-Napoca, cu raportare la principalele evenimente istorice din perioada 1939-1960.

Principalele activităţi ale proiectului includ studierea surselor memorialistice existente, cercetarea bibliografiei relevante şi realizarea unor interviuri cu persoane care au locuit în Cluj-Napoca în perioada respectivă.

De asemenea, echipa urmăreşte să obţină sprijinul organizaţiilor non-guvernamentale ale minorităţilor din Cluj-Napoca şi al presei locale pentru popularizarea proiectului şi identificarea posibililor respondenţi.

Obiectivul proiectului este realizarea unei broşuri trilingve (română, maghiară, engleză) care să prezinte rezultatele cercetării şi lansarea acesteia în prezenţa tuturor colaboratorilor.

A megemlékezés kultúrájának nemzetközi projektje Kolozsvárott

2012 február - november közötti időszakban Kolozsvár a "Cluj-Napoca between 1939-1960. Diversity of Remembrances" nemzetközi projekt helyszínéül szolgál, amit az EVZ alapítvány Geschichtswerkstatt Europa programjának támogatása révén sikerült megvalósítani.

Azon 28 szelekciós pályázat egyikéről van szó, amelyeket 93 pályázatból választottak, és amelyeket a német „Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" alapítvány finanszíroz. A pályázatok különböző európai, illetve ázsiai országokból érkeztek.

Egy fiatal európai kutatókból álló csoport fog átfogó kutatást végezni a legjelentősebb történelmi eseményekre fókuszálva olyan főbb etnikai csoportok emlékhelyeit illetően, amelyek Kolozsvárott éltek az 1939 - 1960 közötti periódusban.

A projekt főbb tevékenységi körébe sorolható a létező memorialisztikus források tanulmányozása, a releváns könyvészet kutatása és interjúk készítése olyan személyekkel, akik Kolozsvárott laktak az adott időszakban. 

Ilyen formán a csapat arra törekszik, hogy a kolozsvári kisebbségi civil szervezetek és a helyi sajtó támogatását elnyerje a projekt népszerűsítése érdekében, valamint hogy azonosítsa a meglévő forrásokat.

A projekt célja, hogy a kutatás eredményeit egy háromnyelvű (román, magyar, angol) brosúrában összefoglalva bemutassák a közreműködők jelenlétében.
